Pearl And Bead Restringing
Learn about Pearl & Bead Restringing
Pearl and bead necklaces are strung on silk or nylon thread that weakens naturally over time through wear, moisture, and regular handling. A strand that has not been restrung in several years is at real risk of breaking -- and when it does, beads can scatter and be lost. Restringing is an affordable service that protects your investment and keeps your pearls looking their best.
At Hogan’s, we restring pearls and beads on silk thread with individual knots tied between each bead, the traditional method that prevents stones from rubbing against one another and limits loss if the strand ever does break. We also inspect and replace clasps during the restringing process if needed. We recommend restringing every one to two years for pieces worn frequently.
